Autumnal Moments

I walked a friend downstairs to my front door last night. As we said our goodbyes, a breeze swept through and leaves began to swirl.

“Look!” I said to her. “It’s snowing leaves.”
It was one of those perfect autumnal moments. I stood there and marveled, feeling very thankful for this season, a new friend, an evening of good conversation and laughter.
These are the moments that make up fall.

Early morning air, crisp and clean and close. Brownstones, decked out with grinning pumpkins and fake spiderwebs. Grey skies. Golden trees. The glow of a streetlamp as twilight meets the city.

Again and again, I find myself stopping in the middle of the sidewalk to take a photo on my phone. I want to save each moment, a sweet reminder of Lakeview in the fall:

(If I’m gushing this much about fall, just wait until Christmastime finally arrives. Really. Brace yourselves.)
