Zach + Anna

Anna and I met years ago at the University of Illinois. She was one of my first classmates on that campus, and we’ve been Facebook friends ever since. Last month, Anna sent me a message — she and her boyfriend, Zach, were looking to buy a condo.

As it turned out, I knew Zach, too — he had gone to the same high school as me. And to make the world even smaller, Anna’s boyfriend’s mom’s cousin is my co-lister on 323 North Oak. Whew.

We spent a few days on the hunt for a condo in Lakeview (my ‘hood!) before finding a sleek one-bedroom on Orchard Street. Zach and Anna fell in love with it, and frankly, so did I — the big balcony, kitchen island and prime location sold us all on the place. Oh, and Trader Joe’s is right across the street. It doesn’t get any better than rolling out of bed and into the frozen section.

Earlier this month, we closed on the property. I thanked my clients with wine, cork coasters (the sellers had a thing for cork art, and I knew how much Anna admired their pieces) and chocolates.

Congratulations, Zach and Anna. Welcome to the very best neighborhood.
