Melanie Everett & Company is growing, and it is such a joy to introduce my newest broker: Monica!
I first heard about Monica through Beatriz. I was in the midst of hiring for two positions, and when I asked my team if they had any suggested candidates, Bea spoke up.
Our buyer, Sal, had worked with Bea on a condo purchase in the South Loop last fall. Bea raved about the broker who represented the seller. “She’s super sweet and very professional,” Bea told me. “Her name is Monica.”
I wrote Monica a DM on Instagram later that afternoon. Somewhat serendipitously, I realized that this wasn’t my first time messaging her. Monica had reached out to me about joining M&Co. in early 2021, and at that time, I wasn’t looking to expand. Would she still be interested? I wondered.
As it turned out, Monica did want to connect, and I think you know how the rest of this story goes. After a few weeks of discussions, it was official: Monica started in February!
Since Monica’s first day, I’ve learned even more about her: Her favorite band is the Eagles, she has the most fun! outfits, and she can talk about anything and everything. Monica is personable and polished — not to mention a total team player. She’s already up and running with M&Co. clients, and I cannot wait to watch Monica confidently guide them to closing.
Below, you’ll find Monica’s contact info and a quick Q&A. Welcome to Melanie Everett & Company, Monica!
Meet Monica Donahue!
Tell us about your home! I live in the cutest English Tudor, located in the historic district of the Beverly neighborhood. Our home was built in 1926 by Chicago architect Edward G. McClellan. Besides fulfilling my love of history, it was hard not to appreciate the original arched doorways, leaded glass windows, gothic architecture, and dripping charm.
What are your most-visited neighborhood spots? Rainbow Cone — this is an iconic Chicago ice cream staple! Horse Thief Hollow — a microbrew with award-winning craft beer and great food. Calabria Imports — an Italian grocer with the BEST meatball sandwich.
What is your favorite part about working in real estate? I consider myself a Chicago expert. Sharing my city with clients while helping them navigate our very diverse neighborhoods to find the ONE is by far my favorite part.
Why M&Co.? M&Co. runs like a well-oiled machine. The women who make M&Co. such a success are who you want in your corner when buying or selling. Hardworking, knowledgeable, organized, and kind. I feel lucky to work beside the best in business.
