Working with Brad and Mary was a delight.
After our initial consultation, we set out on showings. It did not take me long to learn that they were looking for something special. Our taste was similar – Brad and Mary were after charm! Nothing cookie-cutter, nothing basic. I totally understood.
On a rainy early summer day in 2020, we toured a Lincoln Park townhome that checked every box. It offered space, sophistication, and a stellar location. Brad and Mary knew it was right for them. And it was.
After everything was signed and the movers were scheduled, Brad, Mary and I met at their soon-to-be-home for the final walkthrough. This is a walkthrough I’ll never forget. Brad had sneakily brought mini bottles of champagne and sparking apple juice, offering one apple juice to me and one to… Mary! I was pregnant at the time with Holly, and finding out they were expecting was such a sweet surprise. I’m pretty sure I cried!
Since their closing, Brad and Mary made the space their own (photos from Mary below!), and joyfully welcomed their precious daughter, Esme, home one year ago. I am honored to call Brad and Mary my clients, neighbors, and friends.
A few quick questions for Brad & Mary:
How many homes did you look at before finding yours? We looked at a handful. Probably somewhere around 10. The market was crazy when we were looking.
How did you know this was The One? We could really picture our growing family here. It is in an amazing neighborhood, lives like a single family home and is on a beautiful street. We also quickly found out how amazing our neighbors are!
What is the very best feature in your home? We love the natural light. We also love the attached garage/driveway. It comes in handy with a newborn/stroller and who doesn’t love extra parking in Chicago?
Which room do you spend the most time in? Definitely the living room. We love to entertain and love the open concept with the dining area.
Go-to restaurant in your neighborhood? In our neighborhood, Old Pueblo whether takeout or their patio. Also not necessarily our neighborhood but a favorite of ours is Bungalow by Middle Brow. It is only a short drive away.
Share your fave memory in your home! Bringing our daughter Esme home and creating all of her first memories here. What an amazing year it has been!
