Kelsey

A guest post by Beatriz Jensen-Perez

Kelsey and I met during our consultation in January of this year. She was ready to find her dream condo, so we started searching right away. One particular place in Lincoln Park caught her eye, and we quickly made plans to see it! This home had charm but lacked space – ultimately, it wasn’t the one.

She decided that her perfect place would be close to work, have outdoor space, and have a second bedroom large enough for a roommate. She wasn’t afraid of some work, but needed a big space!

We narrowed her search to Lincoln Park and the West Loop. Since the spring market was so competitive, we made sure to see the units ASAP. Thankfully, Kelsey was a champ and not overwhelmed by the competition!

Most places we saw lacked space and the it factor… until we found the perfect West Loop loft in mid-February. It had charm, exposed brick, soaring ceilings, large bedrooms, lots of natural light & room for some improvements.

Kelsey closed in April and immediately began to transform her new space. She refreshed the kitchen, completely redid the bathrooms, and brightened up the walls (no more navy blue!). I’m thrilled she gets to enjoy this beautiful space and share it with family and friends – I can’t wait to see as she continues to make this place home!

A few quick questions for Kelsey:

How many homes did you look at before finding yours? 14 officially, & a bunch of open houses

How did you know this was The One? I felt like the unit was a diamond in the rough, & with a little bit of elbow grease it could be exactly what I was looking for!

What is the very best feature in your home? I love the exposed brick/beams and open floor plan!

Which room do you spend the most time in? Likely the living room, but the balcony gave it a run for its money this summer!

Go-to restaurant in your neighborhood? Monteverde or Ranalli’s!

Share your fave memory in your home! I love hosting wine nights with friends and can’t wait to host out of town visitors!
