It is such a joy to work with young married couples. As a very much unmarried person, I love having the chance to observe husbands and their wives. Neil and Kristen, I learned, were perfectly suited for one another. They have been married for a few years, and after renting in Lakeview and attending one of my seminars, they were ready to buy their first home.
We began our search in early spring. Neil and Kristen had taste similar to mine: a vintage, classic, elegant walk-up. This is not easy to find. They went to dozens of open houses, and we went on so many showings. It took months before they found “the one.” (And, for the record, one of my favorite properties I’ve ever sold.)
The winning property was a spacious, renovated, and oh-so-charming condo in East Lakeview, steps away from bustling Broadway Street. It had so many elements to ooh and ahh over, from the built-in bookshelves in the living room to the penny-covered floor in the master bathroom. There was a bit of a bidding war, but Neil and Kristen came out on top.
This year, they hosted Thanksgiving for their family. Kristen recently texted me a few photos from the occasion. I’m beyond happy for these two, and I wish them the merriest Christmas in their new home.
