Soon after our initial consultation, Carly and Ryan asked to meet at an open house. This was during the height of the spring market, and this open house was packed! Immediately after, we sat down and came up with a plan on how to tackle the market since they had just witnessed how competitive it could be.
We paid close attention to off-market properties because most homes were getting multiple offers and they wanted to move ASAP. Our plan paid off when we found the one on the Private Listing Network!
This home had it all – charm, space, multiple living areas, a beautifully updated kitchen, a stunning pantry (it deserves its own mention!), and room for baby Jack to grow. Not only did this home check all the boxes, the location was perfect: right down the street from their new daycare and all of their favorite restaurants. We went under contract that same day and the rest is history!
I’ll never forget when Carly broke out baby Jack from daycare to snap their final walkthrough picture. Sweetest walkthrough moment!
I’m so incredibly happy for this family and I can’t wait to see how they continue to make this space their own.
A few quick questions for Ryan & Carly:
How many homes did you look at before finding yours? One
How did you know this was The One? At the time, we lived around the corner in a rental and had passed this home every day for months as our son, Jack’s, daycare was only a few doors down. I remember bringing a baby blanket with me to the tour as we were planning on picking up Jack right after and it was a chilly winter evening. It actually took me some time to warm up to the home itself but my husband, Ryan, quickly helped me see the potential. As a first-time home buyer, I also think my expectations were entirely too high given our budget. We finished the tour and after getting our son and walking 30 seconds to what could be our new front door, I envisioned our new life – our furniture inside, our cat laying by the crackling fireplace and our giant Christmas tree in the bay window. From that moment, I couldn’t unsee it. We put an offer in immediately!
What is the very best feature in your home? We absolutely love having a wood-burning fireplace. It is so cozy and has a tiered mantle for holiday decorations.
Which room do you spend the most time in? Living Room / Bay Window Play Area
Go-to restaurant in your neighborhood? Jr’s Red Hots Hotdog Stand – exceptional burgers and dogs. A staple in our house.
Share your fave memory in your home! For years it had been our dream to have a huge, real Christmas tree. Our previous apartments were so small we could only manage fake tabletop trees about a foot high. This past Christmas we were finally able to make that dream come true. I remember the moment so vividly. The tree illuminated what felt like the whole block – sitting proudly in the bay window as our son sat mesmerized by the twinkling lights. It was almost like the tree had been waiting as long as we had. Fireplace crackling in the background, Ryan and I looked at each other and smiled.
