In February, I taught my homebuying seminar at the National Collegiate Sports Association’s Lincoln Park HQ. I remember meeting Will that day — he sat in the back, proudly repping his purple NCSA lanyard. He told me he was an accountant, and he very much loved his job.
We got together for coffee the next afternoon. Will was looking for a two-bedroom in Lakeview, spacious enough for him and his roommate. As I’ve written many times, I am a sucker for vintage real estate, so I had a ball showing him the charming walk-up buildings.
It wasn’t long before Will went under contract in East Lakeview. His unit has a balcony with tree-top views and the floors creak when you walk across — swoon. He closed on it in April. To celebrate, I gave him a set of beer glasses and marble Blackhawks coasters. Will is a sports guy, dedicated to the Hawks and White Sox, so it’s fitting that he works for the NCSA.
Congratulations on your condo, Will. Now, where’s my invite to the housewarming?
