Annie & David were living in Boston when they decided to plant roots in Chicago. Annie, a former Chicagoan, knew the city was perfect for raising their newborn, Celine, who joined the family in May 2023.
Over a weekend in July, Monica took them on a marathon of showings – 12 in total! They settled on a brand new duplex in West Town, & have been making it home ever since.
Annie and David first reached out in June. They were living in Boston when they decided to plant roots in Chicago. Annie, a former Chicagoan, knew the city was perfect for raising their newborn, Celine, who joined the family in May 2023.
After spending some time searching online from afar, Annie and David planned a trip to Chicago for the end of July to tour properties. Right from the start, they were a dream to work with. We toured the properties on beautiful summer days in Chicago, with no pressure… except for the need to find a home within that weekend. Annie and David were troopers as we toured 12 homes in 2 days to find the one.
The decision ultimately came down to two duplexes, a vintage beauty or stunning new construction. Although I tried to keep a poker face throughout the tour day, my Instagram Story gave away which one I favored – the new construction had taken over my story that afternoon.
We submitted an offer for an unforgettable, new-construction duplex in the West Town neighborhood. After facing a competing offer, I was ecstatic to deliver the news that theirs had been accepted. This was well-deserved after their eventful weekend.
Annie, David, and Celine moved into their new home a couple of weeks after closing on September 1st, bidding farewell to Boston and officially becoming residents of Chicago. Since then, they have been happily settling into their new city and becoming locals. I am delighted to have them as part of our M&Co. family!
A Few Quick Questions for David & Annie
How many homes did you look at before finding yours? We spent months looking at Zillow listings before we flew in for a weekend. Monica toured 12 houses with us in 2 days!
How did you know this was The One? To be honest – we didn’t! We seriously considered putting in offers on 4 houses before submitting an offer on our home. We were thrilled when Monica let us know that our offer was accepted and we can’t imagine living anywhere else.
What is the very best feature in your home? We adore the rainfall shower in our primary bathroom. It’s great to relax after a long day.
Which room do you spend the most time in? Our family room is right next to our kitchen! We get to cozy up on the couch and grab snacks anytime we want.
Go-to restaurant in your neighborhood? We love Chengdu Impression and the ice cream at Kurimu!
