M&Co. Map: Armitage Avenue

I’m so thrilled to share our first-ever neighborhood map!

This map features Armitage Avenue, a beloved street in Lincoln Park with boutique shopping, stately brand names, and lots of coffee options. My family and I live in this neighborhood, and we couldn’t possibly love it more. For our map, I reached out to a few of businesses I love - both big and small - and they were all excited to be featured:

Lori’s Shoes: Some of my most treasured pairs of shoes have come from this long-standing shop where shoeboxes are stacked on the sales floor. Just last week, I rushed in here 2 hours before a speaking engagement. I was in hot pursuit of a silver shoe to go with my outfit, and Lori’s wonderful staff jumped in to help. I left with metallic pumps (featuring a cherry-red strap!) on sale, no less!

Summer Thornton Design: If you know me, you know I am such a junkie when it comes to interior design. Of course, Summer Thornton Design is undoubtedly one of my favorite decorators — and even better, her firm is based on Armitage Avenue! Summer isn’t afraid to take risks and play with pattern and color. I absolutely love walking by her Lincoln Park office and enjoying the blooming landscaping and gorgeous vintage details.

Art Effect: This is certainly a neighborhood staple. Inside, discover a fun and colorful assortment of home goods, clothing, art, cards, and much more. I can get lost in Art Effect. Each room pulls you in and has something a little bit different — one of my favorite offerings is their collection of cookbooks!

Maison Parisienne: This darling corner cafe serves up fresh French bread, quiches, macarons, and even has a dine-in area where guests can grab a table and order off the menu. I love their assortment of take-home jams and jellies, too!

All She Wrote: Whenever I am in search of a sweet card or personalized gift, I go to All She Wrote. This stationary, monogramming, and gifting shop is packed with goodies for the home, for the new baby, for the bride-to-be (custom wedding invites!)— you name it, they have it. It’s a charming store that will make you want to stay and browse for a little while.

Serena & Lily: Last but not least, S&L’s LP Design Shop is as beautiful as you’d expect it to be. It occupies the entire building on Armitage — two floors of chic home accessories, lighting, furniture, & fabrics. I bought black-and-white cafe chairs here 5+ years ago and they continue to be some of my favoite chairs!
