Before making an offer on a home, we strongly recommend doing the following research on the property.

Google the address & neighborhood to see if any news articles mention it.
View the address on Google Maps to get a feel for surrounding homes & businesses.
Explore the neighborhood at various times of day.
Measure your commuting options & proximity to transit. Google Maps is helpful for finding options from Point A to Point B!
Understand any street parking restrictions, & get a feel for parking availability. If you’re in Chicago, you can look up if the property is in a permitted parking zone here, & learn more about parking zones here.
If the garage or driveway seems especially tight, make sure you can park your car.
Explore local crime databases, including crime reporting & registered offenders.
