Transferring Utilities

You will want to transfer utilities into your name, beginning on closing day. Please be sure to do this prior to closing day! You should just need the property address to do this.

Chicago Utilities

• Electric: ComEd

• Gas: People’s Gas

• Internet: There are several providers for internet. Your condo association may have a preferred provider — please check your move-in packet!

• Water: automatically transferred on your behalf during closing

• Trash: automatically transferred on your behalf during closing

Suburban Utilities

Utilities will vary by township. If your city isn’t on the list below, you should be able to search “City + Utilities” to find out who your service providers are.

• Buffalo Grove

• Clarendon Hills

• Evanston

• Hinsdale

• Naperville

• Oak Park

• Vernon Hills

• Wilmette

• Wheaton
