Closing on Your Home
Most sellers opt to pre-sign documents with their attorney so that they do not have to attend the closing. During your pre-signing appointment, your attorney will walk you through all the documents that you need to sign.
The buyer will typically attend the closing in-person, particularly if they have a loan. Closing generally takes 1-2 hours, and once they have signed the last document, your home is now theirs!
After the closing, you’ll receive a Settlement Statement from your attorney detailing your final take-home amount after closing costs. You can expect to receive the proceeds from your sale that day.
